10th Special Opening of Former Nakano Family Residence: Decorations Adorning a Western-style House of the Meiji Era

A special public opening themed "Decorations Adorning a Western-style House of the Meiji Era" will be held at the Former Nakano Family Residence, designated as a National Important Cultural Property. Modeling a residence that the 10th-generation Hanroku Nakano was impressed by while studying in Europe, this Western-style residence was built as a villa in Meiji 44 (1911), and the exhibition focuses on its decorations. Event contents include architectural history commentary, the themed exhibition "Decorations Adorning a Western-style House of the Meiji Era," and guided tours of the Former Nakano Family Residence. In addition, mini corners featuring traditional toys beloved since ancient times for children, an exhibition of works by To-ka Fashion College, a mizuhiki craft experience, a fashion show, and more are scheduled, offering plenty of activities for visitors to enjoy. A corner for messages to the future 10 years from now is also set up.
