About this event

Takahama City has a walking trail called "Onimichi." In this event, along with Ms. Yukiko Wakida, who promotes the appeal of roof tiles as a "Kawara Joshi" (roof tile enthusiast), participants can experience a journey encountering various tiles while walking along Onimichi. This is also a precious opportunity to see the "Shioyaki Roof Tile Kiln," a Tangible Folk Cultural Property designated by Takahama City that is usually closed to the public. On the day of the event, the "Shin Onimichi Festival" is also held with venues such as the Kawara Museum and Library, making this a program linked with the festival celebrating roof tile culture. Participants will walk a course of about 3 km, with Oyama Greenery (Oyama Ryokuchi) as the finish point. Advance registration is required to participate, and applications are accepted via an email form. Through this walk, you can deeply appreciate the history of Takahama City and the charms of roof tiles.
