Tarobo Challenge 2026 (TAROBO 379 CHALLENGE) is a stair-climbing competition held at Tarobogu Shrine (Aga Shrine) in Higashiomi City, Shiga Prefecture. It is a competition sprinting up the 379 stone steps of Tarobogu Shrine to determine the 'Winning Man' and 'Winning Woman' at this sacred site where the deity of victory resides. A total of 700 participants can take part across all 12 categories, ranging from elementary school students to seniors, and even a category for participants accompanied by their pet dogs. Positioned as the 3rd round of the domestic official stair climbing series 'Stairclimbing Japan Circuit (SJC)', top athletes in Japan will also gather. The elite category counts toward the SJC annual ranking. Free shuttle buses will operate to the venue from Ohmi Railway 'Tarobogu-mae' Station, providing convenient access. The 'Gacha Fes' will also be held on the same day, allowing visitors to utilize the unlimited ride service on the Ohmi Railway.
