About this event

Held in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture, the "Azuchi Nobunaga Festival 2026" is a festival commemorating Oda Nobunaga that has become an established community-participation event. In 2026, it will be held over 2 days to commemorate the 450th anniversary of the construction of Azuchi Castle. The biggest highlight is the samurai warrior procession, where people dressed in the attire of Lord Nobunaga, warlords, noble ladies, the Tensho Embassy boys, and missionaries parade through the Azuchi castle town. It creates a scene reminiscent of vibrant Azuchi in those days. In addition, a wide variety of events will entertain visitors, including the "Rakuichi Rakuichi" market selling local specialties, horseback riding experiences, and a layered stamp rally. The venues are around Azuchi Station and Azuchi Bungei no Sato.
