About this event
The 50th Nigohachi Festival is the largest regional festival held in Higashiomi City. Originating from the historical practice of holding markets on days ending in 2, 5, and 8, this festival conveys the free and lively atmosphere of traditional markets to modern times. At the 'Nigohachi Marche & Flea Market' held as part of the festival, numerous flea market stalls open every year, creating a lively atmosphere. In addition, stage shows and food/drink areas are set up so visitors can enjoy a wide variety of attractions. Furthermore, the 'Local Products Festival', bringing together crafts and specialty products from across Higashiomi City, is held concurrently, featuring a fun lottery for purchasers. Broadly themed sections such as the 'ECO Festival' focusing on the environment and the 'Traffic Safety Plaza' for traffic safety awareness are also provided, offering opportunities to discover and appreciate the charm of the region through diverse events. Centered on the theme of discovering the town's appeal and falling more in love with it, this festival aims to foster an affection for the town that carries into the next half-century.
