About this event

The "3rd Hikou Shrine Sky Festival" will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Hikou Shrine in Yawata City, Kyoto Prefecture. The event will take place from 10:00 to 15:00, with free admission to the shrine grounds and museum. As the main feature of the event, lectures will be delivered by Shoichi Murata, a former Blue Impulse pilot, and Kiyonori Oda, former development leader of the T-4 Blue. Murata's lecture is scheduled from 10:30 to 11:30, and Oda's lecture from 13:00 to 14:00, followed by a panel discussion featuring both speakers starting at 14:15. Approximately 40 seated places per lecture require advance reservation, with a lottery held in case of excess applications; same-day seats and standing room will also be available. Other attractions include a Japan Self-Defense Forces VR experience, an "Aviation Junk Market" selling aviation-related merchandise, and an Osaka Aviation Junior Corps booth. An "Entertainment Raffle" offering items from sponsor companies will also run throughout the day. Children of elementary school age and younger must be accompanied by a guardian. Since the shrine parking lot will not be available on the day, the use of public transportation is recommended. The event may be canceled or its contents modified due to bad weather or other circumstances.
