About this event

Held as part of the cultural property preservation project in Shimamoto Town, "Parent-Child Magatama Making Workshop!" is a valuable opportunity for both children and adults to enjoy. In this workshop, parents and children can craft a magatama, an ancient ornament, together. You can nurture creativity while coming into contact with history. The event will be held over two days on Saturday, August 22, 2026, and Sunday, August 23, 2026, divided into morning and afternoon sessions each day. Under expert guidance, participants will select a stone, carve it, and polish it to complete their very own original magatama. Through this experience, you can deepen your understanding of local cultural properties and create precious parent-child memories.
