4th Whisky 100 Years Festival in Shimamoto
Japanese name:第4回 ウイスキー100年フェスティバル in 島本
📅 Fri, Oct 2, 2026 - Sun, Oct 4, 2026
About this event
In Shimamoto Town, the birthplace of Japanese whisky, the 4th Whisky 100 Years Festival in Shimamoto is being held this year. This event is a rare nationwide tasting event specializing in whisky cocktails, where leading top bartenders showcase their craft and serve original whisky cocktails that can only be tasted here. This year's theme is "Hyakunin Isshu: Love Waka Poems." Inspired by the love poetry competition held in Shimamoto in 1202, participating bartenders select one love poem from the Hyakunin Isshu anthology and express its profound worldview and delicate nuances of emotion as a special whisky cocktail. Enjoy the layers of words and historic romance through all five senses in a single glass. In addition to limited whisky cocktails, one of the three tasting tickets is a "fateful ticket" drawn from a gacha machine, giving you the chance to discover a new favorite through a serendipitous encounter. The food corner is also well stocked, so even those who are not fond of alcohol can enjoy delicious food and the venue's ambiance. Pick up a special brochure and enjoy conversations with the bartenders.
