India Mela 2026

About this event

Meriken Park turns completely Indian for three days in the 15th edition of Kobe's India Festival. The venue features stalls serving authentic curry, tandoori chicken, samosas, and chai, alongside sales booths offering sundries, clothing, and spices. On stage, performances of North Indian classical dance Kathak, South Indian Bharatanatyam, Bollywood dance, musical instrument performances, and yoga continue from morning to night. This year, a 1,000-person scale Bollywood dance event where visitors can dance along is also scheduled. With free admission, it is ideal for those who want to eat authentic Indian food while viewing the port, or families looking to experience a different culture. On stage, various performances including classical dance, Bollywood dance, instrument playing, and yoga are presented, and dances by performers from India are a must-see. In the food & shop area, besides enjoying authentic Indian tastes such as curry, tandoori chicken, samosas, and chai, numerous shops selling Indian goods, clothing, and groceries will also be present. Various hands-on classes, workshops, and talk shows will also be held in the venue.
