Amagasaki City 110th Anniversary Amagasaki Danjiri and Taiko Festa

Commemorating the 110th anniversary of the municipal organization of Amagasaki City, the "Amagasaki Danjiri and Taiko Festa" gathers a total of 21 danjiri (festival floats) and taikodai (drum floats) owned by preservation societies participating in the Amagasaki Danjiri Taiko Festa Executive Committee for exhibitions and demonstrations. This is a rare opportunity to see up close the traditional danjiri and taikodai handed down in various districts such as Kifune, Tsukiji, Tsukaguchi Kitamachi, and Oda. In addition to the exhibitions, thrilling demonstrations will be showcased, including "Yama-awase" where danjiri crash into one another, and "Abare-daiko" where drum floats are vigorously spun and tilted. Furthermore, hands-on interactive experiences will be held where visitors can actually ride the danjiri or taikodai and beat the percussion instruments, allowing you to learn the meanings behind each movement and touch the local festival culture handed down over generations. On the day of the event, there will also be play equipment for children and food trucks, offering plenty to enjoy for families throughout the day. It will be a special day unique to the 110th anniversary, allowing you to savor the charms of festivals across Amagasaki all at once.
