"Kato City Summer Dance," cherished as a seasonal tradition in Kato City, will be held in 2026. Set in Yashiro Chuo Park Stella Park, a magnificent circle of dance will unfold to conclude this summer. On the day of the event, participants will come together to enjoy dancing to a variety of songs such as Kato Yoshiyoshi Ondo, Kawachi Ondo, Tanko Bushi, Banshu Ondo, Baka Ondo, Dancing Hero, Kiyoshi no Zundoko Bushi, No Doubt, and Gujo Odori Medley. Furthermore, a free yukata dressing and eye makeup service (reservation required in advance) is provided, making the event even more exciting. Advance dance practice sessions are also held ahead of the festival, creating a welcoming atmosphere where first-timers can easily participate. Recruitment is also open for "Odori-ren" (dance troupes) of 5 or more people, and registered troupes will receive personalized lanterns as gifts. Flying small unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) around the venue is prohibited, and guidelines for participants are provided, including heatstroke prevention measures, taking trash home, and a ban on illegal parking.
