Koriyama Castle "Moon Viewing Gathering"
Japanese name:郡山城「観月会」
📅 Fri, Sep 25, 2026
About this event
Held at the Koriyama Castle Ruins historic site in Yamatokoriyama City, the Koriyama Castle "Moon Viewing Gathering" is a special event where you can view the harvest moon from the Koriyama Castle tenshudai (castle tower base). Held on Friday, September 25, 2026, the area around the Koriyama Castle tenshudai will serve as the venue. At this event, cultural attractions such as gagaku (ancient imperial court music) performances, Kojiki recitations, and astronomy lectures are scheduled, and visitors can also enjoy a moon-viewing tea ceremony (paid) and sales of local Japanese sweets. In addition, the "Koriyama Castle Orange Light-up" will be held simultaneously in conjunction with World Alzheimer's Month, positioned as an awareness campaign to deepen understanding of dementia. Because there is no parking around the venue, the use of public transportation is recommended. Why not take this opportunity to spend a cultural moment while admiring the beautiful moon at historic Koriyama Castle?
