About this event
A traditional festival dating back to the reign of Emperor Sujin, this grand festival serves as an autumn festival for shrine parishioners to give thanks for the harvest and pray for peace among the people. Just like the Spring Omiwa Festival, the Yoimiya-sai (eve festival) is held on the previous day, and the Goen-sai (post-festival banquet) is held the following day. On the day of the Autumn Omiwa Festival, taikodai (drum floats) carried by local parish children and the youth association parade through the town of Miwa in the afternoon, eventually gathering in front of the worship hall amidst cheerful shouts and excitement.
