Abe Monju-in Eleven-Faced Kannon Memorial Service

At Abe Monju-in, the Eleven-Faced Kannon Memorial Service is held annually on November 3. This memorial service honors the Eleven-Faced Kannon Bodhisattva enshrined in the inner sanctuary of the temple precincts and is solemnly conducted in the main hall alongside 4,500 Buddhist statues dedicated along the surrounding side walls. Together with the dedicated Buddha statues inside the Shaka-do Hall, this major memorial service provides an opportunity to encounter the compassion of the Eleven-Faced Kannon Bodhisattva. This memorial service is regarded as one of the most important annual events at Abe Monju-in.
