About this event
A special public opening of the Shokuden (treasure storehouse) will be held at Tachibana-dera Temple in Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture. This special exhibition will feature numerous temple treasures, including the standing statue traditionally said to be Nichira (an Important Cultural Property) and the illustrated biography of Prince Shotoku on colored silk (Shotoku Taishi Eden). Nestled in a peaceful rural landscape, Tachibana-dera is one of the seven temples established by Prince Shotoku, and the main hall's Taishiden enshrines a statue of Prince Shotoku at age 35 (an Important Cultural Property). This is an opportunity to experience precious cultural properties at the Shokuden treasure repository.
