About this event
The "9th Osato & Sawaichi Walk (Blind Elderly Welfare Awareness Walk): Let's Walk in Pairs from Asuka to Tsubosaka-dera Temple!!" is an event where participants meet at Kintetsu Asuka Station in Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture, and walk approximately 6.5 km in pairs to Tsubosaka-dera Temple in Takatori Town. Originating from the legend of Osato and Sawaichi depicted in the Tsubosaka Reigenki, the walk aims to raise awareness for the welfare of the blind and elderly. At the goal at Tsubosaka-dera Temple, hospitality featuring zoni soup for curing and warding off eye diseases is served, along with a dharma sermon by Head Priest Tokiwa. In addition, a mini-concert by completely blind singer Wakana will be held, allowing participants to enjoy a heartwarming experience while walking through beautiful nature. The event will proceed in light rain, and admission is free.
