World Heritage Commemoration Walking Tour: Exploring the Yamada-dera Temple Ruins in Sakurai

About this event
This is a walking event to tour three huge temple ruins built in the Asuka period alongside a volunteer guide group. Walking along an approximately 7km course, participants will visit the historic Yamada-dera Temple ruins, Kibiike Abandoned Temple, Abe-dera Temple ruins, and more. Meeting at the South Exit of JR/Kintetsu Sakurai Station, the group is scheduled to pass through Yokooji, Nanatsu-ido, and Sakurai no Sato before dispersing in front of the Asuka Historical Museum. Held in commemoration of the World Heritage registration, this event offers a valuable opportunity to fully enjoy history and nature. Participation is free, but advance application is required with a capacity of 100 people (first-come, first-served basis). The event will proceed rain or shine, but will be canceled in severe weather.
