Held in Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture, 'The 12th Osaka Kaido Festival: Emperor Jomei and Octagonal Tombs' is a valuable opportunity to learn about the historical significance of Emperor Jomei and octagonal tombs. In the morning session, a special history lecture titled 'Emperor Jomei and the Creation of Octagonal Tombs - Considering the Historical Significance of the Dannozuka Kofun' by Professor Shunsuke Tatsumi of Shitennoji University will be held at Osaka Ikune Kaikan. In the afternoon session, a historical walking tour centering around the Mausoleum of Emperor Jomei will visit Osakaniimasu Ikune Shrine, Tamatsushima Myojin, Osaka Kaido Road, Shiidera Temple, Himorogi-ishi, Tomb of Princess Kagami no Okimi, Tomb of Princess Otomo, Omuroya legendary site, Osaka Kofun Cluster, and more, with on-site explanations scheduled at the Mausoleum of Emperor Jomei.
