About this event
Gose Marathon 2026, held in Gose City, Nara Prefecture, is a renewed event formerly cherished as the 'Katsuragi no Michi' Citizen Marathon. In this edition, a new Quarter Marathon (10.54875 km) division has been established, featuring a challenging course with an elevation difference of up to 70 m. Designed to be enjoyed by a wide range of participants from beginners to long-distance runners, the event also includes a costume division. In the afternoon of race day, Gose Sports Festival 2026 is also scheduled to be held, offering an opportunity to enjoy a full day of active movement. Anyone is eligible to participate, with a capacity of 300 participants (first-come, first-served). Entries are accepted online or at the city hall counter. Participation fees vary between city residents and non-residents, with separate rates set for elementary and junior high school students. Children under elementary school age are free of charge. T-shirts are prepared as participation prizes, and certificates and medals will be awarded to top finishers by division and gender. The venue, Gose Citizen Athletic Park, is equipped with parking for approximately 500 vehicles, but the use of public transportation is also recommended. Free shuttle buses will operate from Kintetsu Gose Station.
