About this event

Arida City celebrates the 70th anniversary of its municipal administration in 2026 (Reiwa 8). In this commemorative year, a special exhibition will be held introducing the "treasures" passed down continuously in the region, focusing on valuable cultural assets designated as "Arida City Designated Cultural Properties." In this exhibition, you can experience the deep history of each cultural asset and its locally rooted charms. It will be a valuable opportunity to pass on Arida City's rich cultural heritage to the future. The exhibition content is wide-ranging, including Buddhist statues, artifacts from the Kofun period, and materials related to the realm of faith, allowing you to experience the depth of Arida City's history and culture. As related events, lectures on Buddhist statues, Kofun culture, the world of Chujo-hime, and the documents inside the lotus pedestal of the Standing Twenty-Five Bodhisattvas of the Welcoming Descent (Raigo) at Shomyoji Temple, as well as on-site viewings of city-designated Buddhist statues and curator gallery talks are scheduled, allowing for deeper learning about cultural properties.
