About this event
The Haya Taisha Shrine Annual Festival is a traditional festival held every year at Haya Taisha Shrine, situated on the ruins of Haya-oji. The biggest highlight of this festival is the dedication of "Bijo Manzai," in which children aged 5 to 7 take the leading role. Dressed in gorgeous costumes with the characters for "Daisho" written on their foreheads, the children lead the procession carrying banners corresponding to each character. Accompanying participants carry decorations featuring two eggplants bearing fruit on a single vine, adding to the sacredness and liveliness of the festival. This traditional ritual serves as a precious opportunity to celebrate local culture and the healthy growth of children.
