About this event
Hosted by Kurayoshi Museum, the 'Summer Vacation Natural Science Exhibition 2026' is an annual exhibition introducing six fields of natural science (celestial bodies, birds, insects, plants, fish, and minerals) through specimens and photographs. This year, specimens of large insects from around the world, specimens of new minerals discovered in Japan, photos of birds inhabiting the Kokufu River, photos of plants on Mt. Utsubuki, and photos of nebulae and star clusters will be exhibited. In addition, there is a live exhibition in aquariums featuring the popular fish of the Tenjin River, allowing visitors to enjoy familiar nature from various angles. The exhibition contents include: for plants, flowers and tree nuts of Mt. Utsubuki (photo exhibition); for insects, large insects from around the world (specimen exhibition) and Japanese swallowtail butterflies (photo exhibition); for birds, birds of the Kokufu River (photo exhibition); for fish, fish of the Tenjin River (live aquarium exhibition); for minerals, new minerals discovered in Japan (specimen exhibition); and for astronomy, nebulae and star clusters of the Milky Way Galaxy (photo exhibition). This exhibition will be a wonderful opportunity for both children and adults to deepen their interest in nature.
