About this event
Boasting a history of over 300 years, the "Nihyaku-Hatsuka Honen Citizens' Festival" is a traditional festival held in gratitude for safely passing the critical storm day of the 210th day and celebrating an abundant harvest. Originating as a merchants' event celebrating Hatsukaichi's growth as a market town, it features traditional festival scenes centered around shopping streets, complete with street stalls and lion dances. It is also known as the "Festival for Wearing Yukata for the Last Time of the Season," and the lively scene of women in yukata alongside people of all ages creates an unforgettable memory even into adulthood. It is an event where you can fully experience the atmosphere of Hatsukaichi's historic festivals.
