Cycling Shimanami 2026

About this event

Set against the spectacular scenery of the Setouchi Shimanami Kaido, the international cycling event 'Cycling Shimanami 2026' will be held. It is Japan's largest cycling event, running through the breathtaking scenery woven by the beautiful sea and islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea. Set on the Nishi-Seto Expressway (Setouchi Shimanami Kaido), which normally cannot be ridden by bicycle, 8 courses ranging from approximately 30 km to approximately 140 km are prepared, allowing cyclists of a wide range of skill levels to enjoy. Official tournament merchandise sales and a summit themed around cycle tourism and sustainable town development are also scheduled to be held. Guidance regarding rules when riding on the main expressway will also be provided to participants.
