The "12th Kogin Festival 2026," held in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, is an event featuring stalls by Kogin-zashi (traditional embroidery) artisans and workshops. During the event period, visitors can experience the charm of Kogin-zashi embroidery. In particular, the Kogin embroidery workshops offer hands-on experiences making keychains or wooden pincushions. You can participate in the wooden pincushion workshop for 2,000 yen (including material costs and tax) and the keychain workshop for 1,500 yen (including material costs and tax). Advance registration is required to participate, which can be done via the dedicated form or by contacting the executive committee (Tel: 0172-32-6046 [Shimaya]). The workshop participation fee can only be paid in cash at the venue on the day of the event. Each session has a capacity of 10 people, and since necessary tools are provided at the venue, you can participate empty-handed. As this involves detailed work, please remember to bring your glasses if you use them. Admission to the event is free, and anyone is welcome to attend.
