Yamagata Flower Festival 2026

About this event

Yamagata Flower Festival 2026 is a flower festival held in Nanyo City, Yamagata Prefecture. The venue features exhibitions and sales of high-quality flowers from the prefecture entered into a flower competition. As a visitor gift, the first 100 guests will receive flowers from the Okitama region. There is also a gift campaign for those who take photos of flower art at both the Nanyo Chrysanthemum Festival (held on the same day) and this event venue. Displays of flower arrangements using materials from four regions across the prefecture are another highlight. Furthermore, hands-on activities will be held where participants can take their creations home, including an Easy Flower Arranging Experience guided by students from Prefectural Okitama Agricultural High School and a Kids Potted Plant Workshop taught by professional florists. Some of these experiential programs may be limited to junior high school students and younger, or require elementary school students and younger to be accompanied by a guardian. Advance application is required for those wishing to participate.
