About this event

Aizu Juraku 2026 Autumn Campaign is a specialty goods event recreating the "Juraku" free-market system introduced by Lord Gamo Ujisato, who laid the foundation of Aizuwakamatsu City. It creates an atmosphere as if you have slipped back in time 400 years to promote the economy and culture. The event recreates the conditions of that era, which encouraged sophisticated Nanban (Western) culture, lacquerware, and sake brewing. Booths called "Nanban-goya" styled after Christian temples will line the venue, featuring corners such as "Shokuraku" where staff dressed in period costumes recreate food culture of the period, "Takumiraku" displaying and selling master craftsmen's techniques, and "Kokuraku" offering storytelling theater performances and painting workshops.
