23rd Aizu Shinsengumi Festival

About this event

Held in Aizuwakamatsu City, the "23rd Aizu Shinsengumi Festival" is a historical event that also serves as a graveside memorial service for Saito Hajime (Fujita Goro), assistant vice-commander and third unit captain of the Shinsengumi. Related events are held to commemorate Saito Hajime, who rests at Amida-ji Temple in Nanukamachi. At this event, in addition to a commemorative lecture (advance registration required) by Nobuhiro Watsuki, the creator of "Rurouni Kenshin," a graveside memorial service for Saito Hajime will also be conducted. In Aizuwakamatsu, where the history of the late Edo period lives on, this will be a precious opportunity to trace the footsteps of the Shinsengumi and experience history. The event will be held at Aizu Keikodo and Amida-ji Temple as venues.
