Japanese name:第1回 会津ウルトラウォーク
📅 Sat, Oct 17, 2026 - Sun, Oct 18, 2026
About this event
The 'Aizu Ultra Walk' is an event modeled after Japan's oldest marathon 'Toashi', which was held at the Aizu Domain school Nisshinkan during the Edo period, aiming to promote health, maintain and enhance physical fitness in the Aizu region, and share Aizu culture, including sports, nationwide. The course loops around the area visible from the castle keep of Tsuruga Castle, featuring two distances: 100 km and 70 km. Each aid station plans to offer hospitality unique to Aizu, such as local specialties and famous confections. Participants can enjoy a challenge suited to their physical fitness while feeling the rich nature and history of Aizu. A waiting area near the venue is also provided so beginners can participate with peace of mind. In addition, free shuttle transport between Aizuwakamatsu Station and the venue will be available, providing easy access for participants traveling from afar.
