About this event
Aizu-Bange Station will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its opening on October 15, 2026. To celebrate this memorable milestone, a variety of programs will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Aizu-Bange Station Square and Station Bange Minami Park. At the event, a commemorative ceremony will take place, featuring an opening performance by 'Oedo Sukeroku-ryu Aizu-Bange Yasube Taiko' and an unveiling ceremony for the station building wrapping designed in collaboration with popular manga artist Hiroshi Takahashi, who is from Aizu-Bange Town. In addition, the local traditional 'Saotome Dance' will be performed. Visitors can receive an original '100th Anniversary Commemorative Certificate', distributed to the first 200 people. Railway experience events include trying on children's stationmaster and technician uniforms, train papercraft gifts, train broadcasting experiences, a railway nameplate gallery, Rail Star test rides, and miniature railway rides. Furthermore, the JR East Train Simulator can be experienced for a fee. At the concurrently held 'Bange Meat Fest', you can enjoy delicious Oku-Aizu meat dishes centered on horse meat, a specialty of Aizu-Bange Town. In conjunction with the event, the special group chartered train 'Tadami Line Anniversary' will also operate, providing a special trip where passengers can experience the food, sake, and charms of the communities along the line while viewing the scenic landscapes from the Tadami Line train windows.
