Furusato Festival 2026 in Iwaki

About this event

Held since 2012 with the aim of passing down the regional treasure of folk performing arts and rebuilding bonds among people, the 'Furusato Festival' will be held in 2026 at the 'Iwaki Performing Arts Center Alios'. It is a precious once-a-year opportunity where various dances, kagura, and traditional performances passed down and preserved throughout the prefecture are showcased all at once. Admission is free, so anyone can feel free to visit. It is scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 7 from 14:00 to 17:00, and on Sunday, November 8 from 10:00 to 17:00. The performing groups on Saturday, November 7 are Suzuishi Higashimachi Kyorakukai, Fukuda Juni Kagura Preservation Society, Aizu Dainenbutsu Sesshuko Preservation Society, Namie-machi Kawazoe Performing Arts Preservation Society, Shitamachi Children Teodori Preservation Society, and Shimotairakubo Youth Association. On Sunday, November 8, performers include Kinutani Shishimai Preservation Society, Minamiyunoki Kagura Preservation Society, Maezawa no Onna Hozai Odori Preservation Society, Takijiri Bo Sasara Preservation Society, Aizu Bandai Mikomai Preservation Society, Uenohara Jangara Youth Association, Okura Taita Kagura Preservation Society, Kumagawa Chigo Shishimai Preservation Society, Iitate Village Soma Nagareyama Odori Preservation Society, Ono Okura Shishi Preservation Society, Okunitama Shrine Yamatomai Succession Association, and as a special attraction, the Iwaki Yumoto High School Hula Dance Club Welina Mahalo will perform.
