About this event
Held in Ryugasaki City, Ibaraki Prefecture, "Tatsunoko Waku Waku Work" is a popular annual occupational experience event where children can experience various jobs they aspire to. With the cooperation of 22 businesses in the city, experiences that nurture children's dreams are provided, such as firefighters, train conductors, and pastry chefs. Through interaction with people working in the community, it is a valuable opportunity to discover the appeal of work and the good aspects of the region. This event also links with the "Autumn Children's Central Month" promoted by the Children and Families Agency, aiming to expand connections between children and the local community through occupational experiences and build momentum for the entire community to support children and child-rearing households. Target participants range from preschoolers (eldest kindergarten class) to 6th-grade elementary school students, with eligible participants varying depending on the occupational experience menu. The application acceptance period is from Friday, July 10, 2026 to Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
