Centering on the question "How are Yokai born?", this exhibition explores Yokai folklore handed down in Tochigi Prefecture and Sakura City. It reframes Yokai as cultural beings that people created to "live alongside" as they faced everyday fears, anxieties, and disasters, introducing them as wisdom and culture that still live on in modern times. Set across the entire museum, diverse Yokai appear, lurking not only in the special exhibition rooms but also in the permanent exhibition area, inviting visitors into an imaginative and playful world.
