About this event
Held at "Terasaka Rice Terraces" in Yokoze Town, Chichibu District, Saitama Prefecture, the "Terasaka Rice Terraces Red Spider Lily Festival (2026)" is an event to enjoy a nostalgic moment of early autumn woven together by red spider lilies blooming along the satoyama ridges and golden ears of rice. The scarlet red spider lilies spreading across the vast terraced rice fields are breathtaking, with a view of the majestic Mount Buko in the distance. At the event, various attractions heralding the arrival of autumn can be enjoyed, such as the sale of sekihan (red bean rice), direct sales of agricultural produce harvested in the rice terraces, and musical performances in the middle of the rice fields. The best viewing time for red spider lilies is usually from mid to late September, when around 2 million spider lily bulbs come into full bloom. This event is supported by local farmers aiming to preserve and utilize the rice terraces as a regional resource, and in 2022 it was selected as one of the "Connecting Rice Terrace Heritages ~Passing Hometown Pride to the Future~". It is an autumn tradition in Yokoze Town where you can fully enjoy a beautiful rural landscape and a magical atmosphere not found in the city.
