On Sports Day, Monday (public holiday), October 12, 2026, 'Futtsu City Fureai Sports Festa 2026' will be held at Futtsu City Citizen Fureai Park. This year's tagline is 'Move, Have Fun, and Connect in Futtsu.' Starting with a rugby class and workshop by Mifuyu Koide, a former Japan Women's Olympic Rugby representative, a diverse lineup of sporting events that anyone from children to adults can easily enjoy will be featured, including track and field (100m sprint, 1000m run), Hometown Jumbo Karuta, ground golf, and slackline experiences. On the day, many events open for same-day registration will also be available, such as tamaire (beanbag toss), preschooler footraces, Molkky, Quick Arm experience, physical fitness tests, kick target, ring toss, and Struck Out. In addition, frailty checks, Yakult's health classes, and Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance's health checks will be conducted, providing opportunities to promote health and improve physical fitness. Held concurrently with the festa, visitors can also enjoy the 'Fureai Food Truck Festival' where food trucks gather.
