📅 Sat, Aug 29, 2026 - Sun, Aug 30, 2026
About this event
Held for the first time with free admission from Saturday, August 29, to Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Science Museum in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, 'Iko-yo Festa 2026 in Science Museum' will be a two-day event where the interests of adults and children meet and curiosity sprouts. As a hands-on event where children can discover what they like, corporate developers and researchers will participate as 'Sukishalists' to convey their passion for goods, products, technologies, and services directly to children through workshops and stage events. By conducting experiments, making things, and discovering mysteries, both adults and children can experience two special days where their passions awaken. Various booths will offer diverse programs that nurture children's non-cognitive skills, such as Key Coffee's coffee experience and coaster making, a financial education workshop sponsored by SBI Securities, Morinaga & Co.'s snack science, Pilot Corporation's sustainable learning, Mitsubishi Pencil's mechanical pencil assembly experience, SAPIX Elementary School Division's eco-generator crafting, and the University of Tokyo Science Communication Circle CAST's human body wonders experience. Stage programs will feature shows by the University of Tokyo CAST, science plays by the Engeki Shudan En theater troupe, Morinaga snack stage shows, and more. In addition, the popular character SunSun from the kids and family YouTube channel 'SunSun Kids TV' will appear for photo sessions and sales of limited-edition merchandise. A venue-wide bingo mission rally and the 'Outing Support Campaign,' offering chances to win invitation tickets to popular leisure facilities in the Kanto area, are also planned. Furthermore, on Saturday, August 29, the 'Iko-yo Science Private School Fair 2026,' gathering private junior high and high schools that focus on STEAM education, will be held concurrently, providing an opportunity to expand children's interests into learning that connects to the future.
