📅 Sat, Oct 10, 2026 - Sun, Oct 11, 2026

📍 Taito, Tokyo

About this event

This is a chrysanthemum festival held at Daienji Temple in Yanaka. It revived the Dangozaka chrysanthemum dolls, which had continued from the Edo period through the Meiji era, as the 'Chrysanthemum Festival' in 1984 (Showa 59). At the venue, in addition to the display of chrysanthemum dolls, there will be sales of small potted chrysanthemums shipped directly from producing areas, sales of various chrysanthemum specialties such as kiku-inari (sushi pocket with chrysanthemum), kiku-namasu (seasoned vegetable dish with chrysanthemum), and kiku-zake (chrysanthemum sake), festival food stalls, and shipping services for Chrysanthemum Yu-Pack parcels. This festival is beloved as an autumn tradition of Yanaka, full of traditional shitamachi downtown charm.
