"Summer Night Museum 2026" will be held from Thursday, August 6, 2026, to Friday, August 28, 2026, across 6 Tokyo metropolitan cultural facilities (Edo-Tokyo Museum, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum, Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, and Tokyo Shibuya Koen-dori Gallery). During the period, opening hours of each facility will be extended mainly on Fridays, remaining open at night until up to 21:00. The Tokyo Photographic Art Museum will also implement nighttime openings on Thursdays. This is a valuable opportunity to experience art on the way home from work or school. With entry after 17:00, students can view designated exhibitions for free, while general admission and visitors aged 65 and older can enjoy discounted rates. Depending on the facility, related programs such as extended hours for museum shops and cafes, as well as mini concerts, will also be conducted.
