The "Lantern Festival: Evening Cool Lantern Walk 2026" will be held at Tower View-dori Shopping Street in Sumida Ward, Tokyo, brightening up the summer night. Around 600 lanterns, painted with care by local children and adults, will be lit at dusk, transforming the street into a magical scene. The glowing lantern light highlighting each individual painting and color will make your summer evening stroll truly special. The view weaving together Tokyo Skytree visible at the end of the street and the hand-painted lanterns is a unique highlight of this event. Along with family and friends, you can enjoy a one-night-only path of light created by the local community. Food and drink stalls as well as food trucks are scheduled on the day, allowing you to fully enjoy the summer night in a lively atmosphere. In addition, when you spend a certain amount or more at participating shops in the shopping district, you will receive lottery tickets for a drawing held at the venue.
