About this event

On Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026, "KIBA FESTA 2026" will be held at Kiba Park in Koto Ward, Tokyo. This community-rooted, hands-on event features local companies and organizations showcasing the charms of the Kiba and Fukagawa areas. Over both days, a "Make & Play" market for children using scrap materials and natural resources will be held to nurture creativity and environmental awareness. Inside the Kiba Midorium, there will be an exhibition titled "Koto Ward in Overlaid Maps" comparing the Edo period with modern Koto Ward, as well as panel displays exploring the history of Tokyo's local specialty dish, "Fukagawa-meshi." As part of the traditional craft workshops led by artisans, an "Ikkan-bari" papier-mache workshop will take place on Saturday the 7th, while Sunday the 8th will offer paper craft activities using leftover paper from printing companies and rubber band gun crafting from cedar wood offcuts. Finished rubber band guns can also be used in a target shooting game. For culinary experiences, a yakisoba cooking class will be held on Saturday the 7th, and on Sunday the 8th, a "Lemon Class" featuring kamishibai (paper theater) and videos will be conducted along with drink tastings. A "Sumida River Mini Aquarium" showcasing living creatures from the Sumida River and waterways of Koto Ward will also appear. For physical activities, Sunday the 8th features "Parent-Child Gymnastics" for ages 1.5 to 4, coordination exercise and sprinting classes for parents and kids, as well as trial games of "Kubb," a new sport from Sweden. Throughout the event period, a digital stamp rally exploring facilities across Koto Ward will be held, with prize exchanges taking place at Kiba Midorium on Sunday the 8th. Across the two days, parents and children can challenge themselves with a wide variety of activities including crafts, sports, and food experiences.
