On Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, 2026, the Annual Grand Festival will be held at Tanjo Hachiman Shrine in Kami-Osaki, Shinagawa Ward. Tanjo Hachiman Shrine is said to have been consecrated by Ota Dokan praying for his wife's safe childbirth, and has been worshipped since ancient times as a guardian deity for safe delivery. The festival begins on Saturday, October 3 with the ritual ceremony, followed by a parade of festival floats (dashi). On the following day, Sunday, October 4, the mikoshi (portable shrine) parade is scheduled to march serenely along Meguro Street. You can experience the traditional festival atmosphere at this shrine marked by two large ginkgo trees.
