5th Asukayama Hawaii Festival 2026
Japanese name:第5回 飛鳥山ハワイフェスティバル2026
📅 Sat, Oct 17, 2026 - Sun, Oct 18, 2026
About this event
Set in Asukayama Park in Kita Ward, Tokyo, the 'Asukayama Hawaii Festival 2026' will be held over 2 days, dyeing the area completely in Hawaiian colors. With free admission, more than 90 hula teams and ukulele performances will unfold across 3 stages. This festival originates from the historical event in 1881 when King Kalakaua of the Kingdom of Hawaii was hosted by Shibusawa Eiichi, and is held to commemorate Asukayama as a special place where Hawaiian and Japanese history intersect. The entire park serves as the venue, allowing you to thoroughly enjoy Hawaiian culture in distinct atmospheres across 3 stages: the main 'Asuka Stage,' the historically charming 'Former Shibusawa Garden,' and the 'In Front of Restaurant Hall' stage near the food and beverage area. Hawaii-related merchandise shops and kitchen cars will also be open, providing entertainment all day long. In particular, the stage in the Former Shibusawa Garden, where King Kalakaua was entertained, offers a special experience where you can listen to Hawaiian music in a space surrounded by trees. The venue also has excellent access, just a short walk from JR Oji Station and other transit options.
