Higashikurume Library Fest 2026

About this event

"Library Fest 2026" will be held at Higashikurume Central Library. This year's theme is "Learn, Create, Prepare." In addition to reading books, a diverse lineup of interactive programs that you can join while strolling through the library has been prepared, including lectures on disaster preparedness food, postcard making using vegetable stamps, lectures on information literacy in the AI era, an original art exhibition, and an AR library quiz rally. A notable highlight is the "One-Box Library," where local residents become "mini library directors" and visitors can encounter books selected under various themes. Furthermore, in the AR quiz rally for elementary school students, participants use smartphones or tablets alongside library books to learn about extinct and endangered species. Some lectures and craft activities require advance registration, which can be done by phone or at the Central Library counter. The venue is Higashikurume Central Library, approximately a 17-minute walk from the West Exit of Higashi-Kurume Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line.
