About this event
Based on the concept of creating unforgettable summer vacation memories where visitors can experience an "old yet new Ebina," this summer festival is planned with the wish to give children lasting memories in Ebina on the final weekend of their summer break. Visitors can enjoy a diverse program featuring dynamic taiko drumming by Soshu Ebina Higashi-Kashiwa Taiko, live demonstrations of puffed rice making (pon-gashi) and candy scattering, a children's mikoshi portable shrine carried collaboratively by kids, performances by DJ Mikado and professional Tsugaru shamisen player Mikado Gaho, and the nostalgic Omoide Bon Odori dance—a quintessential summer tradition. In addition, there will be giveaways of paper fans for dancing the Oshiri Tantei Ondo, traditional ohayashi festival music performed by a local preservation society, and atmospheric senko hanabi (sparkler) play. A premium raffle will feature luxurious prizes unique to the local area. The booth area will be packed with entertainment for the entire day, including a pump truck display by the Ebina City Volunteer Fire Corps 5th Division, dinosaur water mist, cool-down rest areas, yukata wear perks, health consultations, glowing stick-light crafting, food and beverage stalls, free distribution of ice cream and cold drinks, original bag and wooden charm making, Mini 4WD car sales/building workshops/racing track, and a retro game corner.
