About this event
Yamakita Station, opened in 1889 (Meiji 22), once prospered as a railway town on the Tokaido Main Line. On this tour, participants will visit the remnants of double-track-era tunnels and bridge piers remaining in the town. Sites visited include the ruins of the No. 1 Aizawagawa Bridge, the ruins of Hakone Tunnel No. 5, the No. 1 Sakawagawa Bridge, the No. 2 Sakawagawa Bridge, and the ruins of Hakone Tunnel No. 2. Since the tour involves walking in addition to travel by car, wearing comfortable clothing and shoes is recommended. The tour is held concurrently with the D52 Festival, and applications will be accepted at the venue on the day of the event. The participation fee is 300 yen per person, with limited capacity per session on a first-come, first-served basis. Children under 6 years old cannot participate. Elementary school students and younger must be accompanied by a guardian. Participants from junior high school age up to under 18 years old require parental consent. The itinerary and schedule may change depending on traffic conditions on the day.
