About this event
Held in Asahi Town, Toyama Prefecture, the 'Jade Coast Cod Soup Festival 2026' is a festival where visitors can enjoy the famous cod soup of the Jade Coast. Made using Alaska pollock in season during summer and autumn and simmered slowly in large pots, the rich and delicious cod soup is so popular that long lines form. The festival originated from the staff meals fishermen ate on the beach during the 1950s and 1960s (Showa 30s-40s), conveying that warm atmosphere to the present day. At the venue, in addition to cod soup sales, local specialty stalls and stage events will be held to entertain visitors. Held at Miyazaki Fishing Port, the Jade Coast Parking Lot is also available. Cod soup sales begin at 11:30, and the fun grand lottery will take place at 13:00.
