The "Jade Coast Tourism Exchange Facility Hisui Terrace," which opened on October 20, 2018, celebrates its 8th anniversary this autumn. To commemorate the 8th anniversary, a seaside marche will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Famous shops from Asahi Town will gather together, offering cod soup (tara-jiru), crab soup (kani-jiru), crab rice (kani-meshi), miso-kanpa, grass dumplings (kusa-dango), ohagi, pressed sushi (oshi-zushi), rice balls (onigiri), freshly harvested new rice lunch boxes, new rice, Jade melon frappes, hisui beans, radium beans, zeitaku beans, Jade gelato, coffee & madeleines, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and more. In addition, there will be a "Jade Lottery" where you can win netsuke straps crafted from Jade Coast jade, as well as a "Pebble Identification" activity where you can learn tips on pebble hunting from a jade guide to distinguish stones found on the beach. Furthermore, as related 8th anniversary projects, the "Ishineko Exhibition" featuring exhibits and sales of artworks of cats and dogs painted on pebbles, and the "Ishineko Workshop" where you can experience creating your own original stone cat artwork, will also be held. Please enjoy a relaxing time spent by the sea.
