Monozukuri Festa 2026: Future Craftsmen Assemble

In Fukui City, 'Monozukuri Festa 2026: Future Craftsmen Assemble' will be held on the 1st floor of Shopping City Bell over two days on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, 2026 (Reiwa 8). This event is a valuable opportunity to see up close and experience the techniques of artisans (meisters) with outstanding skills in various fields such as architectural sheet metal, landscaping, and architectural carpentry. In the artisan demonstration corner, diverse skills will be showcased, including wallpaper hanging, plane shaving (kanna), mini garden construction, copper plate folded cranes, painting demonstrations, and decorative vegetable cutting demonstrations. In addition, at the hands-on crafting corner, visitors can create various items for free, such as copper plate folded cranes and samurai helmets (kabuto), Echizen washi mini folding screens, wooden bookends, bamboo buckets, and kumiko woodwork. In particular, the copper plate folded cranes/helmets and wooden bookends are targeted at upper elementary school students and above, offering content that parents and children can enjoy together. At the venue, screenings of a Zen-gi-ren Meister introduction video produced by the Fukui Prefectural High School of Science and Technology Broadcasting Club and a painting gift lottery for questionnaire respondents will also be held. It will be 2 days to experience craftsmanship rarely seen in daily life and feel the appeal of manufacturing.
