The 73rd Koshu City Katsunuma Grape Festival
Japanese name:第73回 甲州市かつぬまぶどうまつり
📅 Sat, Oct 3, 2026
About this event
The '73rd Koshu City Katsunuma Grape Festival' will be held to express gratitude for the ripening of grapes, the joy of harvest, and the predecessors who built the history of grapes and wine. On the day, stage shows including performances by nursery school and elementary/junior high school children, special live music, and taiko drumming will be presented. As featured stage guests, Southern All Stars tribute band 'Itoshi no Ellie's' will perform from 17:00 to 17:40, and professional hand-cranked barrel organ player 'Koji Koji Moheji,' who relocated to Koshu City, will appear from 12:50 to 13:20 to enliven the venue. In addition, paid wine tastings can be enjoyed from 10:00 to 17:00, and wine by the glass from Katsunuma Town will be sold starting around 17:00. At the climax of the festival, along with adult and children's portable shrine (mikoshi) parades, a sacred flame taken from a Goma ritual at Daizen-ji Temple will be carried through Katsunuma Town by junior high school runners, concluding with the Torii-yaki fire on Mount Kashiwao and fireworks. Vendors for local specialties and processed goods are also being recruited, with booths featuring processed products made from Koshu-grown grapes especially welcomed. The venue is Katsunuma Chuo Park Grounds.
