On Saturday, October 3, 2026, the "Ueda Railway Festival 2026" will be held at Ueda Station in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture. This event is a railway festival jointly organized by the three railway companies serving Ueda Station: JR East, Shinano Railway, and Ueda Kotsu (Ueda Electric Railway). On the day, there will be plenty of programs irresistible to railway fans, such as the operation of special trains, the sale of limited-edition train tickets, and the sale of original "Toge no Kamameshi" bento boxes. The venue will also offer riding experiences on the "Mini High Rail," exhibitions of operational maintenance vehicles, sales of ekiben (station bento) and railway merchandise, a stamp rally, and commemorative photo opportunities wearing official uniforms. Furthermore, at the Pareo area, events such as a railroad crossing safety workshop and introductions to train dispatcher duties are scheduled. At the Ueda Station concourse, product sales and promotional activities will be held by Nagano Electric Railway, Alpico Kotsu, Shinano Railway, Ueda Electric Railway, JR Bus Kanto, and others. In conjunction with the event, the special "Revival Rapid Shinshu Kamakura-go" train will run, distributing boarding commemorative certificates onboard and selling Ueda Kotsu-era supplementary tickets (invalid for actual transit use).
